It was Autumn 2019 when I heard the official word from Ford Motor Company that the newly re-imagined Ford Bronco was going to be released. It was a surreal moment for me to think that a FMC vehicle with off-road capabilities to rival FCA’s Jeep Wrangler would be tangible the following year. I patiently waited for our staff at Backwoods Promotions to attend upcoming auto shows to find out more. While attending the Outdoor Retailer Show in Denver I found out that the official release would be at the Detroit Auto Show that summer. By the end of February, I was chasing any lead I could find online for photos, price points, or capabilities containing the word Bronco.

Detroit Auto Show gets cancelled—-in fact most shows to the public are cancelled along with any others that pertain to the motorsport, outdoor, or automotive industry. My DREAM of seeing the new lines of the Ford Bronco were suddenly slipping away. The new date for the virtual release of the Bronco was set for July, and then delayed to later in July. I felt like I was chasing a ghost.

From the moment I had attended the Outdoor Retailer Show in January and learned more about this new product, I was hooked. The company continued to tease auto enthusiasts everywhere with pictures and videos on social media, promotional packages mailed to homes, and swag handed out at events. Our anticipation for the ultimate off-road vehicle was surging, to the point where all cancelled our Monday night plans to wait at home in anticipation of the release.

The date was set; July 13th, 2020 we would all see the iconic American Brand smash through Johnson Valley, CA (home of King of the Hammers and the ultimate testing ground for this type of off-road vehicle.) The Bronco did not just reimagine its capability—it built a whole new family.

The Bronco product line now includes a 2-door, 4-door, and Sport edition models.  These models are available with the following packages - Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wild Track, First Edition. As the American manufacturer says in their release video, “It has the power of the F-series with the spirit of the Mustang.”

At Backwoods Promotions we celebrate industries that our staff are passionate about, whether it is off-roading or exploring the outdoors and the new Bronco will take you there. One of the highly anticipated all terrain modes were explained--G.O.A.T. (Goes Over All Terrain) which on base includes: Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, Sand. On Badlands edition? This terrain mode includes those as well as Rock Crawl and Mud/Ruts.

Also, those doors and roof? Lose ‘em. With sleek frame mounted rear-view mirrors you can have an unbridled view of the adventure ahead. If the weather is changing while you are in the great outdoors, the doors can be stored in the back of the vehicle.

So at the end of my journey was the wait worth it? Absolutely. It was a tough place at times to wait for something that is a part of an industry you love. Sometimes I felt as though the release of the vehicle would be delayed again, or that the conditions wouldn’t hold out. I relied heavily on the words of others in the automotive industry for their insight and hypothesis about what would happen. In the end, I think Ford was testing me for the off-road adventure I have ahead with my Bronco in uncharted territory.
