As warmer weather starts to melt the snow, motorheads can’t wait to bring their bikes out of hibernation and hit the road for their first ride of the season. In preparation, it’s time to announce our top 5 favourite Motorcycle Rallies for the year! Come out to reunite with old friends, make news ones, share your experiences, and create unforgettable memories! 

 So, in order of date, let's get into it:


1. Daytona Bike Week • March 6 – 15 • Daytona Beach, FL

Daytona Bike Week is a well known marker for the start of rally season. Celebrating its 79th year anniversary, Bike Week draws nearly 500,000 riders from all over the world to see the latest motorcycle parts & models in Daytona, Edgewater, and throughout the entire county.

Jump on your bike and ride “The Loop” in Ormond Beach along with more than enough activities including demo rides, live music, and multiple races to attend! Three of the biggest race events that you can attend during your visit are: The Supercross Race, the American Flat track series and the classic Daytona 200 Road Race.We highly suggest checking out at least one of the shows!

2. Myrtle Beach Bike Week • May 8 – 17,  2020 • Myrtle Beach, SC 

With it’s moderate temperatures, green scenery, and long stretched roads, South Carolina’s Atlantic coastline draws many tourists on a regular basis. That’s why there is no question why it's an optimal spot to gather for a motorcycle rally! 

The annual Bike Week, brings a community of 275,000 bikers together from all over the world to bond over great food, live entertainment, custom bike shows, while promoting bike safety. One of most popular biker destinations, especially for Harley-Davidson riders, can be found 15 miles south of Myrtle Beach at Murrell’s Inlet. Here you will find unlimited activities such as tours, bars, restaurants, vendors, even drag racing on the beach! This event continues to grow and within the past decade has expanded from North Myrtle Beach to Georgetown, SC--so motorheads can participate in rides and tours along the coastline!

3. Laconia Motorcycle Week- June 13-21, 2020 • Laconia, New Hampshire,

Laconia Motorcycle Rally dates back to 1916 when the Gypsy Tour formed and would meet for a few days at Weirs beach along the shoreline of Lake Winnipesaukee. The loosely organized overnight event attracted many riders who would travel long distances to camp out, share their motorcycle experiences, and participate in activities such as races and hill climbs. One year later the Federation of American Motorcyclists (FAM) made it an official event.

Now Laconia celebrates its 97th year anniversary and is known as the world's oldest motorcycle rally with the 2nd largest demographic of motorcycle enthusiasts in the country. The popularity of this show is held with the same respect as Daytona Bike Week and the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally that draws millions from all over the world.

A popular destination for riders sits twenty minutes from Weirs beach where New Hampshire Motor Speedways hosts exciting activities for attendees to enjoy races, participate in demo rides, listen to great music, meet with their favourite vendors, and get an AMSOIL oil change.

4. Sturgis Motorcycle Rally • August 7-16, 2020 • Sturgis, SD


We think everyone has heard of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, whether they are a rider or not! Celebrating their 80th year anniversary, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally has grown to be one of the most popular motorcycle events of all time, reaching an astronomical number of around 500,00 attendees! There will be hooligan contests, art exhibits, drag racing,and so much more to squeeze in. Plan ahead to fit everything you want to do within the 10 day time frame. Outside of the rally you may want to visit other popular attractions like Mount Rushmore or Devils Tower. Traffic will be bumper to bumper so it's best to head there early on.

This year there will be a special tribute, ”Remember Our Fallen '' that will be displayed during the rally from August 7th - 16th to pay respects to all those who have sacrificed themselves in the name of our country. 5. Four Corners Motorcycle Rally - Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 4- 6) • Durango, CO

Colorado is known to be one of the most beautiful states in America, and Durango, CO confirms it! It is in close proximity to what is considered the “Four Corners Monument” where New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, and Arizona touch. Who wouldn’t love riding throughout this part of the country? Cruise hundreds of miles through the evergreen pines and with multiple switchback. Located in Durango is the famous winding, “Million Dollar Highway” that has 284 turns in less than 80 miles. Colorado takes pride in its dramatic scenery, history, and popular tourist attractions. 

Durango Harley-Davidson, La Plata County Fairgrounds, and Sky Ute Casino Resort combine efforts to create the ultimate rally experience by putting on stunt and custom bike shows, poker runs, live musical performances, and exciting motorcycle giveaways. On September 4th,  don’t miss out on The Hooligan Dirt Dash at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, open to all motorcycle enthusiasts who race on a dirt track “aboard street-legal or formerly street-legal machines of any make, model, year and engine size…” 

 "Babes Ride Out" - October 23-25, 2020 • Santa Margarita

In addition to our top 5 Motorcycle Rally picks for 2020, one event that holds a special place in the heart of Backwoods Promotions is “Babes Ride Out”. For the past 8 years, this event brings together more than 1500 women who share a passion for riding. The group was born when 50 women decided to build new relationships with other motorheads to camp out and cruise scenic roads.The group hit plenty of obstacles on their first run but it was ultimately what made the organization what it is today. Now, women who ride join together annually and enjoy games, workshops, riding clinics, live shows, and more.
