So you’ve seen your friends at an epic country music concert, handing out cozies to concert-goers, and your sister worked for an energy drink company all through College which seemed like a total dream job. You’ve seen the pictures and snaps, and wondered... “How do I get to do this?”

Well it’s simple in a way, but it requires a great deal of skill in how you approach and interact with people on a human level. Are you ready…? We’re about to give you some great tips to get you started, or help you improve if you are already an existing brand ambassador. It may seem like easy work, especially as an outsider looking in, however there’s a knack to this sort of work.

Once you’ve connected with a reputable staffing agency, and been booked to a job, consider the following tips:

TIP #1 - Don’t just say you’re outgoing, be outgoing!

Show ‘em what you got! Really though, if an agency is looking for someone outgoing, who can gather crowds and keep energy high, then make sure you can do just that. It is your personality alone that will result in repeated bookings and ongoing relationships in this industry. Be true to yourself, and show us that bold, outgoing and professional personality that we’ve looking for.

TIP #2 - Show up prepared

It goes without saying, but we can’t stress enough how important it is to do your homework prior to working. Read up on the company, client, brand prior to working to ensure you are familiar with brand messaging. Make sure you know where you’re going in the morning (check out a map and parking information), and read over prep materials a second time to make sure you are clear on your uniform requirements and expectations. Dress for the weather (rain or shine). If you aren’t sure about something, don’t assume! Just reach out to your booking manager or team leader if you have any questions, we’re happy to help and want this to be a successful event just as much as you do!

TIP #3 -Communicate

It’s always best to have good communication with your team lead or manager. Confirm with them a few days before that you have received and reviewed all information and are good to go, text them when you park to confirm you are on-site and headed to the entrance or booth location. If you feel unwell, a heads up is great in advance so we can plan accordingly.

TIP #4 - Show your passion

We love when our brand ambassadors exhibit enthusiasm and passion for the brands and products we represent. It’s what sets our staff apart and has earned us repeat clients year after year. Show us that positive energy, that enthusiasm, and passion. We always appreciate when our brand ambassadors go the extra mile, whether that involves offering to help tidy up at the end of a shift, organize materials, or just give out a high five to the team at the end of the day.

TIP #5 - Be proactive

If you’re a seasoned brand ambassador, that’s great and we congratulate you on your tenure in the industry. Keep in mind that experience is an asset, and leads to the ability to mentor others and share your wisdom. So do just that! At the end of the day, there’s no “I” in team, so support, teach and encourage those who are just getting started. They’ll appreciate it and one day pass the wisdom, just like you did.

These are just a few tips we wanted to offer to brand ambassadors in the event and tradeshow industry. Please share your tips with us, and if you are just getting started, click below to apply to join our team. We look forward to working with you all in the near future!
