Surprisingly, women make up only one out of five of the motorcycle and 3-wheel community of riders in North America ₁. Despite increasing numbers of women riders over the past several years, there is still a need to support, mentor, and encourage those who are interested in joining the ever-growing community of riders. As a result, a number of manufacturers have taken various measures to implement programs to support women riders.

From media depictions to community support, one manufacturer in particular, Can-Am On-Road, has created the Women’s Mentorship Program to break down those walls and invite more women to partake in their own adventures. It begins with education to empower women from all walks of life to enjoy the road, build a community around them of fellow riders, and continue that momentum into the future!

One way that Can-Am On-Road is supporting women riders is by offering rider education and training. Provinces in Canada and States in the USA all have different requirements for training and so Can-Am has made it easy by providing a State by State breakdown of what is required. Click here for more information about State requirements, or click here for more information about training courses in Canadian Provinces.

Typically these classes range in price certification depending on the location, however for a limited time in the US, Can-Am On-Road is offering $50 classes for women interested in learning to ride. This is one of the many steps Can-Am On-Road has taken to promote inclusivity and community for women riders. This is offered at select schools nationwide, and once you have found what your state requires along with a class that will fit your schedule we encourage you to sign up here at participating schools.

Finally we explore the community and mentorship of fellow women riders. From education to adventures on the road—Can-Am On-Road promotes women who trail blaze their industry! Educational tips from mentors who teach classes themselves, product reviews from women who ride many different styles of bikes, and community support for those looking to dive deeper into the camaraderie of riding. It is a community that is changing the face of riding one woman at a time! To join the community on Facebook, click here.
